Screech!

Another little screech owl in progress. They are so cute! And it's fun to learn more about each bird as you do research as well.

I do that as well Christy - read up about the bird I'm painting before I paint it - I'm building up quite a knowledge as I go along! Love this owl!

He's really special. I love the curious way he's looking upwards. The colour work in his feathers is stunning too.

Your colours loosely rendered in this owl are lovely. Having google at our fingertips for research as we paint is a modern day tool we just cannot do without

I do like this painting and the unusual angle. He's a cheeky little owl by the looks of him

Thanks Jane! As with most subjects, many samples are worked on and one usually ends up a favorite!

Thanks Sharon, it's fun isn't it?

Thanks Vandy, sometimes with enough hard work you get lucky right?

Thanks Lorraine, I've found capturing from videos a useful tool. that way you're not in danger of copying a still shot and you can get the pose you want.

Thanks Polly, I like this angle too-he was sleepy earlier in the video.
