My Collie

This is my first attempt at a full color painting of a dog-my dog, who normally doesn't sit still long enough for a photo.  I got brave enough to try after taking a workshop with Jean Haines and seeing how she does it.  I can't wait to try more; only practice and lots of work will make this come more naturally!

Thanks Sharon! She cocks her head when you talk to her; here I was saying "Smile for the camera doggie!"

Beautiful softness and texture Christy. The touch of turquoise and blue set off all the warm colours wonderfully. A very appealing painting.

Your doggie is adorable and the portrait turned out beautifully. I like the bold colors.

Thanks Jane-Jean was so gracious. She gave me a bit of one on one time when she knew I had to leave early; I really think that was the spark I needed.
Don't you love the collies? They are so smart!
