Christmas tree on the pier
I love the tree they put out on the pier over the lake every year, and so sad when they take it down. To me it's a symbol of the beauty and simplicity of the season. I'm trying to get it as a painting.
Love the easiness and fluency of this work. I wonder, how the colours were selected, randomly, or they blended by a coincidence...unexpected colour variations in watercolour is the most charming feature for me :)
Thanks Egle, This is painted from memory so maybe some colors were intuitive. I knew I wanted bright lights to stand out from the tree, and I remembered the tree was so dark you could barely see the outline at night.Hookers and ultramarine make a lovely dark, and are opposite from orange and yellow so makes for a nice contrast.
